Building on the legacy of the original 2017 release, the Ocean Machine II refines and expands its signature sound-design capabilities—delivering deeper tone sculpting, more responsive control, and greater performance flexibility.

     

    At the heart of the Ocean Machine II are two fully independent delay engines, each offering nine delay types—from classic digital, tape, and echo to expansive ambient textures like galaxy, crystal, and rainbow. These are paired with a studio-grade reverb module featuring nine reverb types and a shimmer mode. All time-based effects support freeze functionality, ideal for building lush soundscapes and infinite textures.

     

    A significantly improved 120-second looper now provides extended creative possibilities, with overdub, undo/redo, and sync with delays and reverb. Users can control everything from an intuitive interface with 12 dedicated parameter knobs, a bright LCD display, and three multifunction footswitches for toggling effects, engaging tap tempo, operating the looper, or switching presets.

    For live and studio use, Patch Mode allows players to save and switch between 24 presets across eight banks. The pedal’s hybrid parallel/serial routing system—a staple in Devin Townsend’s tone design—enables flexible signal paths and sonic layering.

    The Ocean Machine II also introduces full MIDI integration (not available in the original), external expression pedal support, and wireless footswitch control via the MOOER F4, allowing for global/ individual tap tempo, and Wet effect signal bypass. USB-C connectivity ensures easy firmware updates and future expansions.

     

    Designed for real-world performance, the Ocean Machine II includes stereo I/O, global EQ, and selectable true or buffered bypass, offering seamless integration into any rig. With upgraded algorithms, extended looping, and enhanced control, the Ocean Machine II honors the spirit of the original while pushing the boundaries of ambient and experimental guitar effects.
