Daniel Firth

Bassist/ Cradle of Filth

Daniel Firth

Daniel Firth is a Scottish musician best known as the bassist for the legendary extreme metal band Cradle of Filth. Joining the group in 2012, Firth brought with him a disciplined, precise playing style and a deep understanding of metal's darker, more intricate subgenres. His arrival marked a significant chapter in the band's evolution, helping to anchor their complex arrangements with powerful, articulate bass lines.

Before joining Cradle of Filth, Firth was involved with various underground death and black metal projects, including the bands Man Must Die and Academy Mortician. These experiences sharpened his technical skills and prepared him for the demanding musical landscape of Cradle of Filth.

Firth's contributions are especially notable on albums such as Hammer of the Witches (2015), Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness of Decay (2017), and Existence Is Futile (2021). His playing is both aggressive and melodic, perfectly complementing the theatrical and symphonic elements the band is known for.

Offstage, Firth is known for his grounded demeanor and professionalism, in contrast to the flamboyant and gothic persona of the band’s frontman, Dani Filth. His musicianship and dedication have earned him respect among fans and peers alike, making him a vital part of Cradle of Filth’s ongoing legacy.
